Dental radiography system

The machine in the image is a dental radiography system, specifically the Vatech PaX-i3D Smart.

Function:

This advanced digital system provides 3D CT imaging, panoramic X-rays, and cephalometric imaging capabilities in a single unit.

Technology:

It uses Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) and features technologies like SMART metal artifact reduction (MAR) for clearer images.

Usage:

Dentists use it for accurate diagnosis, treatment planning (such as implant procedures), and visualizing areas difficult to access with standard X-rays.

Nephstar

Nephstar is a protein analyzer instrument which helps in rapid quantitative measurement of specific proteins in blood samples

Principle:

Transferrin is an iron binding protein. Its main function is the transport of iron to proliferating cells and it is an important growth factor.

Tests on Nephstar:

•HbA1c

i CHROMA2

Procedure:

ichroma II is an automatic or semiautomatic in-vitro diagnostic device that measures the concentration of analytes, contained in blood, urine, or other samples, in quantitative or semi-quantitative ways.

Tests performed at iCHOROMA:

•Free T3•Free T4
•Testosterone•LH
•FSH•TSH
•Beta HCG•AMH
•Prolectin•Vitamin D3

CoaDATA504

It's a semi-automated equipment, for the measurement of PT and APTT.

Principle:

It works on the principle of Magnetic Resonance.

PT:

The prothrombin time, sometimes referred to as PT or pro time test, is a test to evaluate blood clotting. Prothrombin is a protein produced by the liver. It is one of factors in your blood that help it to clot appropriately.

Normal Range:

Normal range is 12 to 14 seconds.

APTT:

It is one of the most common blood tests performed, and it is used to diagnose and monitor a variety of bleeding and clotting disorders. The activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) blood test works by measuring the amount of time it takes for fibrinogen to be converted to fibrin

Normal Range:

Normal range of APTT is 30 to 40 seconds

i Smart 30pro

It is a fully automated analyzer.

Principle:

I smart 30 PRO is an advanced Electrolyte analyzer based on innovative EOD (Electrode on Chip) principle.

I-Smart 30 PRO measures Na+, K+ and Cl- concentrations with 60 μl of blood.

It reports patient results in 35 seconds and it eliminates maintenance by use of all– in– one cartridge

Tests

• Serum Electrolytes

X ray chest stand

It is a fast and common procedure used to help diagnose conditions like pneumonia, a persistent cough, chest pain, or injury, and to monitor existing lung diseases like emphysema.

The test is simple, requires little preparation, and shows different tissues as varying shades of white, gray, and black depending on how much radiation they absorb.

Manual Tests in Hematology

ESR:

Erythrocyte sedimentation rate is the rate at which RBCs settle down or descend in a standardized tube over a period of one hour.

Normal range:

0 to 22 mm/hr. for men, and 0 to 29 mm/hr. for woman

Procedure:

• EDTA vials having whole blood are placed on the roller mixer for 5 minutes.

• Suck the blood from the tube with a syringe in the Westergren tube.

• And fix it on the ESR stand.

• After one hour read the sedimentation rate

Blood Group Testing (Slide Method)

Two methods were in blood group testing at Al-Noor Lab.

• Slide method

• Test tube method

Slide method:

• Divide the slide into 3 sections

• Add a drop of suspension made in all three sections

• Add a drop of Anti-Sera A to the first drop, Anti-Sera B to the second drop, and Anti-Sera D to the third drop

• Mix them and wait for agglutination

Test Image

Blood Group Testing (Test Tube Method)

• Take three slides, label them as A, B, and D

• Add 2 to 3 drops of cell suspension in all the tubes

• Add a drop of Anti-Sera A to the first tube, Anti-Sera B to the second tube, and Anti-Sera D to the third tube

• Centrifuge them at 3400 rpm for 1 minute and check for agglutination.
